Bad History: A Second Link Between 9/11, North American Union and Lost Sovereignty

Editorial note: For those redirected to my blog from Scholars for 9/11 Truth for my op-ed piece on Utah-styled academic censorship via the Bush White Hosue, click here.--Moose

Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.--George Santanya, Harvard philosopher

On Monday (25 September) I identified a circuitous link between 9/11 and the North American Union. Norman Mineta's amazingly suppressed 9/11 Commission testimony occasioned his immediate "resignation" as US Secretary of Transportation after being outed on national TV last June for fingering Dick Cheney in 9/11 three years ago. To replace Mineta, Bush appointed "Toll Road" Mary Peters, a principal in the March 2005 signing ceremony for construction of a 600-mile Trans-Texas I-35 corridor by a Spanish investment group. Peters, however, experienced a "Mineta moment" of conscience during confirmation testimony when she virtually told Senator Mark Pryor that American interstate drivers will not only be paying tolls on new US construction projects (read "North American super highway") but also on existing interstate highway, too.

But an even more entrenched and darker link exists between 9/11 and Texas' ongoing land grab in preparation for the North American Union; it's a link understood only by a minority of Americans willing and able to penetrate the thick official fog masking, like the real events of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, our government's terrorist repression of democracy abroad.

Before the Reagan-Bush-Clinton White Houses progressively dismantled its ability to consistently conduct investigative journalism, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting stunned American viewers in 1987 with a remarkable documentary revealing an evidence-based "conspiracy theory." Written and narrated by renowned journalist Bill Moyer, the 90-minute PBS program examined America's "secret government" and how since World War II U.S. leaders unofficially repress populist movements abroad via torture, election fraud, illegal wiretaps, "disappeared" dissidents and assassination.

As a former CIA agent who admits killing innocents abroad on orders from the secret government, author Phillip Agee developed a conscience, quit the agency and began writing books that revealed how the CIA was an instrument for repressing democracy abroad to maintain a friendly investment climate for American business. In CIA Diary, Agee wrote

...what the Agency [CIA] does is ordered by the President and the NSC [National Security Council]. The Agency neither makes decisions on policy nor acts on its own account. It is an instrument of the President...American capitalism, based as it is on exploitation of the poor, with its fundamental motivation in personal greed, simply cannot survive without force - without a secret police force....A considerable proportion of the developed world's prosperity rests upon paying the lowest possible prices for the poor countries' primary products and on exporting high-cost capital and finished goods to those countries. Continuation of this kind of prosperity requires continuation of the relative gap between developed and underdeveloped countries - it means keeping poor people poor.

Any conscientious American citizen who reads with a 6th-grader's comprehension (and whose primary news source isn't TV) understands our Third World techniques of political repression now are evident in post-9/11 America. Still others, privy to American's hidden history of "deterring democracy" abroad, understand the 9/11 "terrorist" attacks were staged by the no-longer-so-secret government to justify bringing home America's exported repression-- strategies honed over a putative 50-year "war of terror" on Third World civilian populations--for an extended engagement.

After five years of gutting constitutional law and erasing government oversight, Phrase II of the Bush White House's "Thirdworldization" plan for America can now proceed without congressional oversight: Rolling up the country with Mexico and Canada into a socioeconomic and political land mass called the "North American Union."

Instead of commandering Third World land and national resources, the new plan needs below-market properties in the eleven states where the proposed superhighway will rip hearts out of Americans as it physical joins the three formerly sovereign countries. Consequently, our secret government now is promoting, according Texas gubernatorial candidate Carole Keeton Strayhorn, "the biggest land grab in history."

First Nation Americans, however, will take issue with Strayhorn's assessment. For them, the country's biggest land grab commenced with Christopher Columbus. Wholesale forced removal of original Americans from ancestral lands, the kind Texans now face, ramped up in the 19th century when immigrant settlers, seeking frontier farm land on the cheap, enlisted in a westward migration plan by the US government promoted as Manifest Destiny, i.e., that the fledging country must extend "from sea to shining sea."

Any meaningful success that second-nation Americans seek in "taking back the country" from a fascist-leaning government and its wealthy globalist sponsors must accept the terrible truth of their nation's hidden history. How can social doctors understand which medical instruments and medicines can cure a condition if it is misdiagnosed ?

The only difference in fascism pursued by the Bush White House after the 9/11 attacks and that of its pre-9/11 predecessors is that now it is more overt and racially inclusive: White middle-class Americans now know about economic pillage and the feel of a double-soled jackboot pressed against their throats.

American Civil Liberties Union Members Say Leaders Flirt with Fascism

Bush 43 post-9/11's ardent embrace of fascism has cast a dark shadow on American civil liberties. It's even causing in-house feuding among national leaders and longtime members of the American Civil Liberties Union, the nation's principal defender of a Bill of Rights on life support.

A faction called Save the ACLU recently posted on its new website a mission statement claiming the organization has been "compromised by its repeated failures to practice what it preaches." The group also claims ACLU leaders are suppressing free speech in the organization along with members' right to criticism leaders and the organization.

Save the ACLU's homepage in part reads:

We come together now, reluctantly but resolutely, not to injure the ACLU but to restore its integrity, and its consistency of principle and remedy its failure to apply to itself core civil liberties principles that it insists everyone else observe. The failure to practice what we preach– until publicly embarrassed– has already done grievous injury to the ACLU and ultimately threatens its historic mission.

.... The ACLU now stands exposed, and widely ridiculed, for repeatedly acting in contempt of its own core principles, and for chilling and even attempting to prohibit dissent within its own ranks.

Over the past three years, these breaches of principle include the ACLU’s approval of grant agreements that restrict speech and associational rights; efforts by management to impose gag rules on staff and to subject staff to email surveillance; a proposal to bar ACLU board members from publicly criticizing the ACLU; and informal campaigns to purge the ACLU of its internal critics.

A friend well acquainted with Amnesty International says that organization also is experiencing curiously similar in-house bickering. As in the 9/11 Truth Movement, have the neo-cons infiltrated these two stalwart organization to "divide and conquer," to neutralize their effectiveness to challenge fascists affronts to civil liberties and human rights?

During these perilous times, we hope the ACLU (and AI) can rectify their internal problems and emerge unified to challenge a White House that is waging a putative all-out-war on the cultural legacy of humanitarian principles underlying the European Renaissance, the US Constitution, reason and science.

Oh, Boss Murdoch's Gonna Make Heads Roll at Fox News...

I have an amazing news flash for you. Earlier this month, an anonymous producer at Fox News Network sneaked a 3-minute report on-air about US voting fraud that curiously resembled investigative journnalism.

Sometime between September 3 to September 17, FOX and Friends First cohosts Steve Doocy and Alisyn Camerota had Princeton computer science Professor Ed Felten demonstrate the ease of hacking into a Diebold electronic voting machine and manipulating final vote counts.

Watch Felten's demonstration below.

With midterm elections five weeks away, Felton certainly knows how to bolster confidence in computerized voting. My thanks to News Hounds for posting this story.

A simiar incedinary vote fraud story appeared earlier this week in Ohio. On Monday (25 September), Bob Fitrakis and Harvery Wasserman at The Free Press in Columbus reported Judge Algernon Marbley of the federal district court in Columbus ruled in favor of city residents who fied a suit to halt Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell's order to destory state ballots cast in the 2004 elections until investigators complete their inspection for for irregularties.

According to Fitrakis and Wasserman,

So far, even the limited inspection of ballots has yielded astonishing results. Three precincts in two counties have shown consecutive runs of Bush votes that qualify as “virtual statistical impossibilities.”
  • In Delaware County, Precinct Genoa I, researcher Stuart Wright viewed and recounted 3 separate bundles of ballots. In the second bundle, there were 274 consecutive ballots for Bush. In the third bundle there were 359 consecutive ballots for Bush. Genoa I was not one of the four precincts recounted as part of a required official recount, conducted on December 15, 2004....
  • In Clermont County, which contributed significantly to Bush’s margin of victory, researcher Dr. Ronald Baiman discovered a suspicious use of replacement ballots, that are meant to be issued only if a regular ballot is somehow spoiled by a voter. In a random draw of one ballot from each of the 192 precincts, against huge odds, Baiman found a replacement ballot. Baiman asked that the next ballot from the precinct be drawn and it, too, was a replacement ballot. Continuing pulling ballots from that same precinct, Baiman witnessed 36 straight replacement ballots in a row, a virtual statistical impossibility. Dr. Philips recorded only five spoiled ballots in this same precinct, raising the question of where the other 31 replacement ballots came from.
Should we forget, Ohio's voting anamolies were no accident. In August 2003, the Cleveland Plains Dealer reported that Walden O'Dell, at the time chief executive for the Ohio-based Diebold, mailed out invitations for a $1,0o0-a-plate fundraisng dinner for the reelection campaign of George Bush in which O'Dell stated "he is 'committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year'."

O'Dell obviously is a man of his word. On the other had, it's unlikely the Bush White House has yet to invalidate enough of the criminal code or judges' judicial common sense that the good folks in Columbus can't ensure some heads roll in Ohio--and Washington, D.C.

New Nimmo Documentary Fingers US for Supporting 9/11 Hijackers

Yesterday, director and editor Kurt Nimmo posted at 9/11 Blogger an excerpt (part 11) of his new 9/11 documentary The Underlying Politics of 9/11.

The 10-minute segment is incediary. In part, it reveals the strategic roles in the 9/11 attacks of US billionaire David Rockefeller and his protege Henry Kissinger, who is no stranger to terrorist war crimes and was George Bush's initial appoitment as 9/11 Commission chair.

Nimmo's film also provides viewers with staggering evidence, all judiciously scrubed from the Kean-Hamilton-Zelikow 9/11 Commission Final Report, implicaticating George Bush and the US intelligence community, particularly the FBI.

Demonstrating a keen eye for visual esthetics, Nimmo adroitly embeds a collage of shots from vintage 9/11-era video reports and post-9/11 mainstream news headlines to support a riveting voice-over lecture by Ralph Schoenman, an author and verteran peace activist who also served as former Secretary General of the International Tribunal on U.S. War Crimes in Indochina.

Below I've excerpted part 1 (9 minutes) of Nimmo's video. To obtain a broadcast quality DVD of his documentary, contact him at k.nimmo at comcast.net.

Postscript:
The day after Nimmo posted video excerpts of his new documentary, 9/11 Blogger's Reprehensor posted a transcript of a 24 September lecture by Peter Dale Scott at the University of California. Titled "The 9/11 Report and Ali Mohamed, Al Qaeda's Chief Terrorism Trainer," point #3 of the lecture reveals that Ai Mohamed, though linked to the World Trade Center attack in 1993 and bombing of the US Embassy in Kenya in 1998, had been a protected CIA and FBI asset since 1988. While the evidentiary trail also indicates he trained some of the 9/11 hijackers, Scott points out the 9/11 Commission Final Report omitted that critical piece of information.

Update: On 8 October, Scott expanded his Berkeley lecture for this written piece at GlobalRearch.ca titled "How the FBI protected Al Qaeda’s 9/11 Hijacking Trainer:
New Revelations about Ali Mohamed."

Part IV: 9/11 Faux Pas Uncovers North American Union Highway Toll System

Editorial Note: Scholars for 9/11 Truth linked to my 14 September entry "Fascism Alert: Academic Censorhship in Utah via Desperate White House," available in my archives section in the right margin. When I twice emailed ST9/11 founder Dr. James Fetzer (jfetzer@d.umn.edu) about the changed URL for that piece, both bounced back with a fatal delivery error. If you have a more recent email address for Dr. Fetzer, please leave it for me either in a comment or the email address provided under my profile.--Moose.

Keeping track of players darting in and out of the White House and between its classified assignments for staging its 9/11 terrorist attacks or secretive North American Union can be as challenging as remembering the cast of characters in a Russian theatrical production of War and Peace.

For the moment, though, let's look at two marginal players in the New World Order criminal enterprise coordinated out of the White House. Though of nodding acquiatance, both recently passed in the White House, one turned out after outing Dick Cheney on 9/11 as the other, a rank greenhorn unschooled to Washington's vetting process, gave up critical information in Senate testimony on the White House's planned interstate highway toll system for what once was the "United States."

When George Bush (read "Dick Cheney") appointed Mary Peters to replace Norman Mineta (below) as US Secretary of Transportaion, George-Dick minimally needed a capable type, one not privy to classified 9/11 truths and immune to "Mineta moments" of honesty that this summer resulted in the televised fingering of the Vice President for strange "bunker behavior" on 11 September 2001.

In case you missed it, Dr. James Fetzer, founder of Scholars for 9/11 Truth, outed Mineta on the 22 June broadcast of Fox News' Hannity and Colmes Show for 9/11 Commission testimony about Dick Cheney's role in the fates of two of the four flights hijacked that terrible day.

When Colmes asked his guest for evidence of White House complicity in 9/11, Fetzer cited Mineta's exchange with commission co-chair Lee Hamilton on what Mineta overhead after entering Dick Cheney's operational center bunker around 9:20 on the morning of the attacks. Minetta not only learned of Flight #93's shoot-down order. But he also overhead enough of a seperate conversation between Cheney and an aide to deduce to deduce the Vice President had issued a stand-down order before Mineta entered the bunker permitting American Airline Flight #77 to continue unimpeded to the Pentagon.

Don't accept my third-hand account of Mineta's searing revelations. Watch this 4-minute segment, originally televised by C-SPAN, in which he tells Hamilton about learning of special orders for Flights #77 and #93 as he huddled in Goebbels'--I mean, Cheney's--bunker.

Surely Mineta's amazing claims, though circuitous and stumbling, merited inclusion in the 9/11 Commission Final Report.

Not a snowball's chance in hell. Phillip Zelikow, the 9/11 Commission's Executive Director in charge of the panel's investigative agend--and co-author of a book with Condelezza Rice before appointed to that plumb assignment--eliminated all references to Mineta's testimony from the final report. If you search (PDF Reader required) the bogus 585-page document, Zilkow's fictional narrative has Mineta first appearing (page 326) on 11 September 2001 in the evening for a National Security Council meeting with George Bush immediately following the Resident's 8:30 P.M. speech to the nation. Minetta does merit, however, two additional citations--in an appendix and footnote--but both are unrelated to his damning testimony.

The day after Professor Fetzer revealed Mineta fingered Cheney on 9/11 to Fox News Network's stable of primetime conservative viewers, Minetta resigned his cabinet post, effective 7 July 2006.

Before exiting stage left, Mineta, with 5.5 years on the job, became the longest tenured Tranporation Secretary in the Department's history. (1)

Enter Stage Right: Mary Peters, North American Union Booster

As a passive but willing confidant to palace intrigues in both Bill Clinton and George Bush Jr.'s administrations, Norm Mineta is tough act to follow. But as Norm's replacement, Mary Peters is up to the challenge. Almost.

As Bush's nominee as Transportaton Secretary, Mary has garnered some well-deserved flack on Capitol Hill. Not only has her unconditional support of the North American Union rightly concerned some American Heartland congress-criters. Still others are put-off by her dodgy willingness for "US" taxpayers to shell out the dollars for her new gaggle of interstate highways and then have "US" drivers effectively pay for it again through a toll system.

The week after Peters' nomination, the widely-published investigative/ intelligence journalist Wayne Madsen was even more taken aback with her (and the President's) murky connections to a land grab frenzy currently unfolding in Texas in preparation for construction of the preliminary 600-mile Oklahoma-to-Mexico leg of a proposed superhighway to reach into Argentina that physically will join Mexico, Canada and the US in a North American Union (see Madsen's last "September 8/9/10" entry):

George W. Bush's pick for Transportation Secretary represents a major conflict-of-interest designed to spur the construction of the Trans-Texas Corridor -- a project in which Bush and his cronies are heavily invested. Last week, Bush nominated Mary Peters to replace Norman Mineta as Secretary of Transportation. Unlike Mineta, a former congressman who then became a Vice President [of] the aerospace defense giant Lockheed Martin, Peters comes out of the surface transportation industry. She is a vice president for the engineering firm HDR and co-vice chairman of the National Surface Transportation Policy and Revenue Study Commission. From 2001 to 2005, Peters was the head of the Federal Highway Administration. Peters is also a former head of the Arizona Department of Transportation. Peters worked in the administration of disgraced GOP Governor Fife Symington, who was convicted of bank fraud and resigned from office. (Symington was later pardoned by his college friend, President Bill Clinton).

Peters' commitment to major "infrastructure development" of the nation's highways centers on the development of the North American SuperCorridor (NASCO) highway, of which the Tran-Texas Corridor will be a major component. Already, Bush crime syndicate cronies, including interests tied to Texas Governor Rick Perry, are purchasing property along the proposed Texas highway route at cut-rate prices, using "eminent domain" statutes to pay less than what private and commercial property is worth. The money for the massive land grab is coming from Saudi and Chinese sources, according to knowledgeable sources in Texas.

....
Peters, as a highway and trucking industry shill, has been entrusted by the Bush crime cartel to ensure that the plans for NASCO and the Pan American Super Corridor proceed unimpeded. Madsen also learned that a million Texas will be effected, i.e., forced from their property, most in the state's rural heartland.

Legal clearance for the massive Texas land grab was bolstered by a remarkable June 2005 US Supreme Court decision solidifying developers' right to profit at the expense of responsible US homeowners. The court's 5-4 vote on Kelo v. New London effectively invalidated the longstanding "blighted property" clause in the "eminent domain" statue allowing government to only claim property for "pubic use." But the ruling removed any lingering doubt that local and state governments can forcible remove homeowners from their land for development, even if the property is well-maintained.

Conveniently, the high court's decision closely followed a March 2005 signing ceremony in Austin attended a beaming Mary Peters (below), Texas transportation officials and representatives of "a private consortium of firms known as Cintra-Zachry" headquartered in Spain given the contract to construct the TTC-35 corridor through Texas from Oklahoma to Mexico.

Advocates for Texans to be affected by the agreement opposed the manner in which the deal was reached and finalized. Here's how the Texas Farm Bureau characterized the deal to members in The Cornerpost, the organization's monthly newsletter:

Tolls, TTC bills filed in Texas legislature
March 11 was an eventful day in the state legislature regarding toll roads and the Trans Texas Corridor. Without advance public notice, and announced late on the last day for legislative bills to be filed without the Governor’s approval, Texas Department of Transportation officials joined by Governor Rick Perry and Federal Highway Administrator Mary Peters signed a 342-page agreement with Cintra Concesiones de Infrae-structuras de Transporte SA (Madrid, Spain) to create a master plan to finance and build the TTC-35 Trans Texas Corridor generally parallel to Interstate 35, from the Lower Rio Grande Valley to the Red River.

The move angered many opponents of the Trans Texas Corridor, who felt the action gave credence to the feeling many attending hearings expressed that their input was not taken seriously, that the meetings were merely a formality because the TTC “was already a done deal.”

In July, amid moutning resistance in Texas to the TTC-35 construction plan (see this blog's right margin, under "North American Union: Info on Texas Land Grab"), the White House fast-tracked the NAU. Key players tasked with implementing the plan (to include current administration officials named on a list of participants in a secret meeting in Alberta in mid-September), now are required to regularly report to three White House "ministers"--Secretary of State Condelezza Rice, Secretary of Homeland Defense Michael Chertoff and Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez.

With Peters' likely Senate confirmation as Transportation Secretary, she ostensibly will become the White House's theatrical lead for clearing obstructions to the construction project, which is slated to begin in 2007.

But Peters' performance(watch here) last week was decidely Bush League in answering Democratic Arkansas Senator Mark Pryor's question about her reported plans to implement a national toll system for new and existing interstate highways.

Though appropriate to the currently constituted Know-Nothing Senate, Peters could use more tutoring from Karl Rove in how to mask White House plans until implementation, the signature operatonal style of the Bush White House.

That skill is essential if voters make Democrats the Senate majority on November 7. If that should happen, Peters' "Mineta moment" of honesty of disclosing the intended double fleecing of American taxpayers/drivers could occasion rivival of that pre-9/11 congressional relic called "checks and balances" of White House executive power.

Texans and property owners in the other ten states to be impacted by the planned NASCO superhighway remember that far back?

Perhaps Canadians will be more successful in convincing their leaders to embrace their resistance when documents finally surface revealing plans the superhighway also will rip through the tundra and plains of their heartland.

Postscript: Former Special Forces US Army Sergeant Lauro "LJ" Chavez, a computer specialist until 2002 with the Army Central Command in Tampa, is claiming he participiated in unusual "Top Secret" military operations on 11 September 2001 he now believes served to mask the White House's stagged 9/11 attacks. (Michael C. Ruppert was the first to cite these operations in his book Crossing the Rubicon.)

An articulate speaker, Chavez told his remarkable account to internet radio host Alex Jones on September 25. Hear Jones' 30-minute interview here with Chavez, which begins roughly 22 minutes into Jones' audiocast. At the end of the interivew, Jones' claims Chavez's account of events on the morning of 11 September support Mineta's scrubbed testimony to the 9/11 Commission.

1. A related story ("Norman Mineta’s Testimony Proves 9/11 Was an Inside Job") also appeared 25 September that supports many of the claims made here.

Part III: Toronto Star Breaks Canadian Media Silence on North American Union

Editorial Note: On 19 September Canadian grassroots news service Vive le Canada confirmed documents were leaked to the organization detailing a secret September 12-14 meeting in Alberta among US, Canadian and Mexican planners for the North American Union. After posting copies on its website identifing by name current Canadian (and US and Mexican) officials meeting in Banff, the Toronto Star followed up with a story on 20 September.

Below is Maude Barlow's account in The Star; it is Canada's first mainstream media report on the secretive business-friendly plan ending the national sovereignty
of the three countries, a plan garnering no input from their respective federal legislatures and judiciay.

A Question for Texans: Doesn't the Bush White House's proposed North American Union now explain its stubborn refusal to honor your requests to control the mass illegal immigrantion from Mexico?

Getting closer to Uncle Sam

Public kept in dark as business leads talks about North American integration, By Maude Barlow

Sep. 20, 2006. 01:00 AM

While the media were busy obsessing over rumours of a budding romance between Condoleezza Rice and Peter MacKay last week, a more significant relationship was developing behind closed doors.

Away from the spotlight, from Sept. 12 to 14, in Banff Springs, Minister of Public Safety Stockwell Day and Defence Minister Gordon O'Connor met with U.S. and Mexican government officials and business leaders to discuss North American integration at the second North American Forum.

According to leaked documents, the guest list included such prominent figures as U.S. Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Mexican Secretary of Public Security Eduardo Medina Mora and Canadian Forces chief General Rick Hillier, although we have no final confirmation of attendees.

The event was chaired by former U.S. secretary of state George Schultz, former Alberta premier, Peter Lougheed and former Mexican finance minister Pedro Aspe.

Despite the involvement of senior North American politicians, organizers did not alert the media about the event. To make it worse, our government will not be issuing a public statement and refuses to release any information about the content of the discussions or the actors involved.

Day's office has been telling journalists that it cannot comment on the minister's private meeting and that journalists should understand this. So much for accountability.

The event was organized by the Canadian Council of Chief Executives — the elite club of Canada's richest CEOs — and the Canada West Foundation, an Alberta think-tank that promotes, among other things, closer economic integration with the United States.

The focus of the event was on North American security and prosperity. Not surprisingly, this included topics such as "A North American Energy Strategy," "Demographic and Social Dimensions of North American Integration" and "Opportunities for Security Co-operation" — all topics where the public interest is at odds with that of big business elites.

Unfortunately meetings like this are now commonplace.

Since Paul Martin, Vicente Fox and George W. Bush signed the Security and Prosperity Partnership in March 2005, discussions on continental integration have gone underground.

The media have paid little attention to this far-reaching agreement, so Canadians are unaware that a dozen working groups are currently "harmonizing" Canadian and U.S. regulations on everything from food to drugs to the environment and even more contentious issues like foreign policy.

Make no mistake, this process of harmonization is not about improving food, environmental and other norms; it is about priming North America for better business by weakening the impacts of such perceived obstacles as environmental standards and labour rights.

This is why the public has been kept in the dark while the business elite has played a leading role in designing the blueprint for this more integrated North America. In fact, they have been the driving force.

In June this year, their power was formalized when our governments created the North American Competitiveness Council (NACC), an advisory committee comprised of representatives from the largest corporations in North America including Wal-Mart, Chevron, General Motors, Lockheed Martin, Suncor and others.

Their goal is to make North America more competitive globally, which means weakening our government's ability to regulate industry, protect the environment or our social safety net.

Lockheed Martin's Ron Covais's statement to Maclean's magazine earlier this month about the role of the NACC was quite revealing:

"The guidance from the ministers was, tell us what we need to do and we'll make it happen."

Sadly, we the public are not informed of what big businesses are telling our ministers to do.

The NACC met in Washington on Aug. 15 to discuss its priorities, but we have very little information about what was said as it was not reported anywhere in the press.

For Canadians, developments on energy will be crucial.

The U.S. administration, anxious to keep up with its country's high energy demands, has shown great interest in this "secure" energy source located just north of its border. With corporations like Suncor involved, energy was an important item of discussion at the Banff meeting last week.

Given the detrimental impacts of oil sand extraction on our environment and given that Canada currently exports 66 per cent of its oil (primarily to the U.S.) while importing 55 per cent of what we use domestically from countries like Algeria, Venezuela and Norway, it is alarming that Ottawa would discuss a "North American Energy Strategy" with the U.S. and Mexico before establishing a Canadian strategy that would ensure our ability to protect the environment and ensure a secure energy supply for Canadians.

Though not as glamourous as the date between Peter and Condi, the media should pay better attention to this marriage between our governments and big corporations.

The Conservatives came to power on the promise to make government more accountable. They need to be reminded that our government should be accountable to the people of Canada — not just its business elite.

Maude Barlow is chairperson of the Council of Canadians and author of 15 books including Too Close for Comfort: Canada's Future within Fortress North America.

Part II: Canadian Action Party and Vive le Canada Confirm North American Union De Facto Government Met Secretly in Alberta

A Second Secret North American Union Forum Meeting at Banff Springs Hotel

On 19 September, Connie Fogal (right), a leader of the Canadian Action Party, forwarded me an article appearing that day on the website of Vive le Canada, a online grassroots news service "to protect and improve Canadian sovereignties and democracy."

The group's founder Susan Thompson reported secret documents leaked by an unnamed whistleblower to her organization detailed secret meetings at Alberta's Banff Springs Hotel from September 12-14 among members of the North American Forum, a group of prominent US, Canadian and Mexican leaders in charge of the "harmonization" of the three nations' economies, legislatures and judicial systems.

Thompson's report claims Canadian mainstream media have ignored the threat to Canada’s national sovereignty proposed by the North American Union, which some American critics claim the Bush White House has quietly encouraged through its open border policy with Mexico.

Our national media stays silent and so Canadians remain unaware that their own CCCE and most powerful politicians are pushing for integration with the U.S. and Mexico completely outside of the usual democratic process. The only newspaper to report anything on this as yet is the Banff Crag & Canyon, which is publishing an article on the conference today thanks to information provided by Mel Hurtig.

Check out the list provided by Ms Thompson of tri-national luminaries attending the confab and their three-day meeting agenda at Banff Springs Hotel here.

On September 20 the Vive le Canada's 19 September alert was picked up by the Toronto Star and reported under the headline "Getting Closer to Uncle Sam," which Thompson reproduced here. The Star's article appears at its website here.

Postscript: On 19 September Canadian Action Party Connie Fogal leader forwarded me an email--along with every sitting member of Canada's current parliament--detailing duplicitious Bush White House public statements about the North American Union. Later, I discovered journalist Wayne Madsen on September 8 suggested that disassociation from reality could be explained by the Bush clain's early land speculation in Texas on behalf of business associates in Saudi Arabia and China. See my 19 September blog entry "Canadian Action Party Exposes White House Posturing on North American Union."

Part I: Canadian Action Party Exposes White House Posturing on North American Union

Lurking beneath the calculated carnage of the Bush White House's bogus "war on terror," contrived war in Iraq and controlled demolition of the US economy is yet another affront to the American people and the US constitution: a North American clone of the European Union.

Apparently, the secret plan for America began lurking in international shadows soon after the Bush occupancy of the White House. Consider this 2002 statement by then-Mexican president and Bush business associate Vincente Fox in Madrid, Spain:

"Our long-range objective is to establish with the United States ... an ensemble of connections and institutions similar to those created by the European Union, with the goal of attending to future themes as important as ... the freedom of movement of capital, goods, services and persons."

Formally propsed in 2005 by the Council of Foreign Relations, the busines-friendly plan marginalizes the respective legislative and judicial systems of the United States, Canada and Mexico in favor of a regional legislature and judiciary. In obvious anticipation of this regional government, the Bush White House in 2005 appointed a "Sunset Commission" that critics claim will dramatically weaken or even terminate "federal programs that protect the public health, safety, civil rights, and environment."

As the map reveals, the NAU will be linked by the NASCO (North American SuperCorridor) highway, which will extend from Mexico through the American Heartland north into Central and Eastern Canada.

In 2004, Texans began contesting state officials' proprosed sell-off of private property for constructing an intrastate toll system to be managed by foreign companies for at least 50 years.

According to respected intelligence journalist Wayne Madsen's September 8-10 entry, "as many as 1 million Texans alone, many in rural and poor urban areas, could be displaced by the Trans-Texas Corridor."

Madsen has identified the Bush clan's fingerprints all over the initial stages of land acquisition for the super highway slated for initial construction in 2007.

The NASCO highway will cross 11 states: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. It will also connect proposed Mexican super ports in Manzanillo, Mazatlan, and Lazaro Cardenas to various United States trucking and distribution super-hubs in San Antonio, Dallas, Kansas City, as well as one in Winnipeg in Canada. The Mexican ports will be receiving points for manufactured products from China.

In addition, Jim Fetzer, founder of Scholars for 9/11 Truth, mentioned off-handedly at the end of his provocative August 16 interview on 9/11 with host Craig Meyer of Madison, Wisconsin's community access WYOU TV, that an undisclosed Mexican company was the first awarded a contract to begin NASCO construction.

Plan and simple, the "extra-constitutional" NAU is all about the elite few's land grab concentrated in more rural areas of America and Canada.

Apart from CNN's Lou Dobbs, US mainstream media is reticent on this naked land and power grab. Much of the media silence can be attributed to its representation on the Council of Foreign Relations membership roll. Former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw, for example, currently is a CFR board member. On the other hand, current tube darlings (e.g., ABC's George Steophanopoulous) are instructed to keep that part of their private lives private, ostensibly to avoid critics' claims of conflicted interests and compromised "objectivity."

Canadians, however, appear better informed and more concerned than Americans about their threatened nationalism .

Connie Fogal, president of the Canadian Action Party, one of Canada's fourteen political parties, just forwarded me--and every member of the Canadian parliment and selected news sources (see below)--an email of the 19 September column by Tom DeWeese of the American Policy Center in Warrenton, VA. In the Federal Observer DeWeese discusses propagandist red herrings by the Bush Administration to counter mounting public concerns over plans to scuttle the countries formerly known as the United States, Canada and Mexico.

With minor editing, I reproduce Ms Fogal's email below. --Moose

Myths, Facts - Truth?

By Tom DeWeese
[]

“Conspiracy theories.” “Fringe nuts.” “Lies.” “Myths.” These are the words
being used by officials of the Bush Administration and others to brand
those who have reported on the activities of the Security and Prosperity
Partnership of North America (SPP), currently operating out of the U.S.
Department of Commerce. Opponents have charged the SPP will result in the
establishment of a North American Union, much on the same lines as the
European Union.

In response to its critics, the SPP has added a “SPP Myths Vs Facts”
section to its website at
www.SPP.gov. According to the
“Myths Vs Facts” document the SPP is simply a “dialog” among the three
countries to “enhance prosperity.” It goes on to say the SPP is not an
agreement, nor is it a treaty. It says “no agreement was ever signed.”

The truth is, on March 23, 2005, President Bush met at his ranch in
Crawford, Texas with Vicente Fox and Paul Martin (then PM of Canada) in
what they called a Summit. The three heads of state then drove to Baylor
University in Waco, where they issued a press release announcing their
signing of an agreement to form the Security and Prosperity Partnership of
North America (SPP).

This year, on March 31, 2006, Bush. Fox and new Canadian PM, Stephen Harper
met in Cancun, Mexico. This time their press release celebrated what they
called the first anniversary of the SPP.

The use of the word “dialog” is a carefully selected euphemism designed to
make the SPP sound like an innocent discussion among friends. To admit that
it is anything more would force the government to provide Constitutional
justification for its actions.

Moreover, the SPP says it won’t change our court system or legislative
process and that it respects the sovereignty of each nation. And, says the
SPP Myths and Facts document, it strongly rejects the idea that it is
creating a European Union-like structure.

That defense is almost laughable in light of the massive activity-taking
place in the SPP office located in the Commerce Department.

First one must know that the European Union was also originally sold to the
nations on the European continent as simply a trade and security framework.
The idea, said proponents, was to create an economic structure to allow a
combined European economy to compete with the United States and other
economic powerhouses. Only a few years later nations were told they needed
a common currency to provide seamless trade. At the same time, the working
groups organizing the EU policy began to morph into what today has become a
European Union parliament, which now is working to create a means of
taxation, regulation of commerce and a court system.

Now, in offices buried in the bureaucratic structures of the United States,
Canada and Mexico, twenty “working groups” are hard at work writing policy
initiatives for the SPP, covering a wide range of issues including, the
manufacture and movement of goods across the borders of the three North
American nations: creating a common energy policy and common environmental
regulations over the three nations; regulating E-commerce and information
communications and technologies; establishing financial services, including
loan policy and foreign aid policy; overseeing business facilitation,
creating the rules under which businesses will operate in the three
nations; establishing food and agriculture policy; and overseeing
transportation and health policy.

These policy directives will infringe on every aspect of our lives. Can
anyone seriously accept the Administration’s explanation that nothing
really important is going on here? That this is only a friendly discussion
taking place? That nothing will change in the way our government operates?
If that were so, then why are we doing it? Why are so much time, money and
energy being taken up in an effort that means nothing? The answer, of
course, is that a lot is going on.

It’s no accident that the SPP is working out of the NAFTA office of the
Department of Commerce. The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was
the precursor to the Security and Prosperity Partnership. According to
investigative journalist, Jerome Corsi, a key part of the SPP plan is to
expand the NAFTA tribunals into a North American Union court system.

Under Chapter 11 of the NAFTA Agreement, a tribunal conducts a behind
closed-doors “trial” to decide the cases dealing with how state and federal
laws may damage NAFTA business. If NAFTA investors believe state or federal
laws damage their NAFTA businesses, under the tribunal the investor may sue
the government and taxpayers will foot the bill. The NAFTA tribunal
decision trumps the U.S. courts, all the way to the Supreme Court. Yet, the
Bush Administration insists the SPP will have no effect on our court system.

The SPP says it is a myth that Congress is not involved or supportive of
its actions. The truth is, to date, there has been no legislation passed by
Congress to permit its actions. No taxpayer funds have been appropriated.
One “hearing” was held in Senator Richard Lugar’s Senate Foreign Relations
Committee. It was a friendly affair with friendly “dialog.” No tough
questions were asked. No one was held accountable for their actions.

Meanwhile, members of Congress are beginning to become aware of the SPP
activities at the Commerce Department. Representative Tom Tancredo
(R-Colo.) is demanding the Bush Administration fully disclose the
activities of the SPP, which he says, has no authorization from Congress.

Specifically, Tancredo wants to know the membership of the SPP working
groups. To date, no one knows who is involved, or is performing the work to
create the policies of the SPP. Geri Word, who heads the SPP office told
World Net Daily that the work has not been disclosed because “We did not
want to get the contact people of the working groups distracted by calls
from the public.” Yet the SPP denies it is working in secret.

Additional congressional reaction has come from Senator John Cornyn (R-TX).
He had introduced a bill, “The North American Investment Act” (S.3622).
Incredibly the bill contains near exact language from the book by Robert
Pastor entitled “Toward a North American Community.” Pastor’s book is
largely considered to be the blue print for the creation of the North
American Union. Much of the contents of the book later appeared in a report
from the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) entitled “Building a North
American Community.” That report was issued just a week before the Summit
in Waco.

However, once these facts were demonstrated to Senator Cornyn, he
immediately took efforts to assure S.3622 would not be voted on in the
Senate. His spokesman stated that Senator Cornyn “is adamantly opposed to
any ‘North American Union’ being formed like the EU had been formed in
Europe.” Regardless of how the Administration spins it, there is no
congressional authorization for SPP actions or spending.

The SPP denies that it is planning to create a unique currency some have
called the “Amero.” However, on April 6, 2006, the SPP announced the
formation of the Financial Services Working Group. According to its own
news release, the Financial Group will focus on “enhancing processes for
addressing banking, securities, and insurance issues.” It goes on to say,
“U.S. financial regulatory agencies will play a critical role in the SPP.”

In truth, the SPP is being put into place incrementally. It will take years
before everything is in place. It took the European Union several years to
create the Euro. However, the guiding documents from Dr. Pastor’s book and
the CFR report both call for the creation of a North American currency. It
is obvious, if one dissects the double speak of the bureaucratic language
of the SPP, in order for it to reach its goal to “reduce the cost of
trade,” “combat counterfeiting,” and “facilitate trade” among three nations
trying to act as one, the drive for a single currency will not be questioned.

And finally, there is the issue of the NAFTA super highway. NAFTA was the
first step in creating a North American Union. It was sold as a means to
enhance trade among the North American nations. All were promised greater
exports, better jobs and better wages. In truth, NAFTA is an unmitigated
failure for all but a very few. The U.S. trade deficit has soared to almost
$1 trillion per year; The U.S. has lost some 1.5 million jobs and real
wages in both the U.S. and Mexico have fallen significantly. Yet, the
agenda is set and so our government presses on.

The latest objective is the NAFTA super highway on which construction is
planned to begin next year. It would bisect Texas from its border with
Mexico to Oklahoma. It will travel on to Kansas City where an “inland port”
is now in the final planning stages.

Plans call for a ten lane, limited access highway to parallel I-35 It would
have three lanes each way for passenger cars, two express lanes each way
for trucks, rail lines both ways for people and freight, plus a utility
corridor for oil and natural gas pipelines, electric towers, cables for
communications and telephone lines. The highway will require the taking of
more than 500,000 acres of private land and is estimated to displace a
million Americans from their property. Eminent Domain will be the tool of
choice for the massive land grab – now made easier by last year’s Supreme
Court ruling in the Kelo case.

The Kansas City Smart Port will be literally the first checkpoint on a
highway that will run all the way from Columbia through the Hartland of the
United States. Mexico will have a facility on the KC Smart Port site that
it now insists will be Mexican sovereign land.

To make the NAFTA super highway reality, the borders of the three nations
must disappear. Immigration will simply become “migration.” Border laws
cannot exist. “Harmonizing” of our societies is becoming the catch phrase.

The SPP says its purpose is to guarantee security and prosperity for the
three nations. The NAFTA model has already proven there will be no
prosperity. The NAFTA super highway is proof there can be no security as we
pave the way for more illegals to flood the nation, as truckloads of
illegal drugs fly up the highway and terrorists just hitch a ride.

The United States is the most unique nation on earth. We were created out
of a radical idea that free people, with their freedoms protected by the
government would be happy and prosper beyond imagination. The idea worked.
Now, the Bush Administration is ignoring this historic fact to “harmonize”
us with Canada and especially Mexico, which is not a free country; has no
property and has just proved its unworthiness of conducting free and fair
elections. At risk are our culture, our wealth, and the once proud American
way of life.

Americans must now understand that the battle to stop the North American
Union is the last stand for a free and independent United States. That’s
not a “Myth” it’s the truth.

Fascism Alert: Academic Censorship in Utah via Desperate White House

Editorial Note: Below is a revision of a 12 September 2006 email I sent to my news list. It addresses Brigham Young University's sanctioning of physics professor Steven Jones with ”paid leave” for off-campus remarks about his ongoing research demonstrating the World Trade Center collapsed on 11 September 2001 from “preset explosives.” Co-founder of Scholars for 9/11 Truth, Jones has reported his findings on national television (see vid clip below) and argues his hypothesis better fits the evidence than the unlikely coincidences claimed by the 9/11 Commission and White House the buildings “pancaked” into their own footprints from heat generated by two exploding commercial jetliners piloted into the buildings by unskilled Saudi terrorists.

The White House’s desperate fingerprints are all over this ham-fisted attempt to silence an American physicist speaking in public about a topic on which he has expertise. One of the last things George Bush and Dick Cheney want before ending their presidency is to share an 8x12 jail cell for the rest of their squalid, greedy lives. But that certainly is an option if Jones’s compelling findings--along with similar findings by other academics cited in the postscript--are afforded enough public play to force a real congressional inquiry into 9/11 should Democrats, as poll pundits are predicting, win a House majority in the November elections.

With subpoena power as new Democratic chair of the House Judiciary Committee, 12-term veteran John Conyers of Michigan, an outspoken critic of Bush White House post-9/11 abuses, can finally compel sworn testimony about 9/11 from the dyslexic commander-in-chief without Dick Cheney at his side offering scripted answers, which was the pathetic scenario at the pair’s unsown (and meaningless) joint testimony before the 9/11 Commission in 2004.

Moose

P.S. : I have a 9/11 pop quiz question for you. Who was the first professor from the Great American West who told a major newspaper the collapse of the WTC resembled those from controlled demolitions? Does the name Van Romero mean anything to you?

No? Then read my email below to see how Romero handled White House pressure to pretend he didn't know what he knows.

====

Sieg Heil, ya'll:

Ah, yes; more academic censorship coming out of Utah, I see. Someday I'll have to tell you of my fatal brushes with academic "freedom" in that right-to-work state.

Nazi Germany's goose-stepping brown shirts were ronown for their suppression of professors, too.

All of which reminds me of a famous film quote: "I love the smell of fascism in the morning."

Well, that's actually a paraphrase of the infamous war-mongering lament of the US Army Colonel "Air Cav" character played by Robert Duval in the film Apocalypse Now. Duval said "napalm" instead of "fascism. We’re talking about the same thing, really.

The bright side of this sad affair is that the American Association of University Professors (www.aaup.org) is challenging Jones's sanction by Brigham Young University for out-of-the-classroom statements about 9/11. If the disciplinary ruling stands, similar censure in higher education is inevitable.

Kudos to the brave AAUP souls in Washington, D.C. for backing the tenured physics professor.

Read details below about Jones's censure provided by Salt Lake City's CBS affiliate KUTV. Below that, I also provide a link to a related story from the Deseret News, the unofficial newspaper of choice of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints members. What's interesting about that article is its headline calling Jones a "'9/11 truth' professor."

Hmmm......What does D'News staff writer Tad Walch and his editor know the White House doesn't want you to know? Utah's Republican majority will have to run those commie-loving journalists out of the state for coddling a “liberal” who obscenely debates in public with logic, reason and the scientific method.

Also a devout LDS church-goer, Dr Jones has produced research--as have other members of Scholars for 9/11 Truth (www.st911.org)-- documenting the World Trade Center collapsed from “preset explosives.” So he and other ST9/11 scholars are creating some serious credibility issues for the White House and 9/11 Commission's Official 9/11 Story.

An August 2 Scripps-Howard/Ohio University poll, for one, found 36% of Americans believe it was 'very likely" or "somewhat likely" that "the federal government either assisted in the 9/11 attacks or took no action to stop" them to justify a war in Iraq.

Ivy Tower Arm-Twisting

Of course, American news TV, the primary news source for two of every three Americans, did not devote much air time to that rather impressive figure. Nor did you hear Fox News network's Bill O'Reilly provide his unique blend of Peabody Award-winning commentary.

Jones’s sanction is the second time BYU, the conservative LDS Church's flagship university based in the most solid Republican state in America, has yielded to White House pressure to force Jones to hold his tongue.

Having spent some time at federally-funded Level I research institutions and closely watched the Bush White House operate for over five years, I wager that significant funding is contingent on university administrators silencing the radical critic.

You don't think that would happen, 'eh? Well, it’s happened before. Here's where Van D. Romero enters the story.

Dr. Romero (left, 2001) is a professor and vice-president of research at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, which "assists in forensic investigations into terrorist attacks, often by setting off similar explosions and studying the effects." Romero himself "studies explosive materials and the effects of explosions on buildings, aircraft and other structures." An undisclosed amount of Pentagon funding keeps NMIMT faculty and administrators very happy.

On 11 September 2001, Romero just happened to be on a DC subway headed to a meeting at the Pentagon to discuss more funding for his school when a plane hit the World Trade Center.

According to the Albuquerque Journal's 9/11/01 interview with Romero after the attacks, the professor, "reported that he had studied the videos of the WTC collapse and concluded that the towers were most likely destroyed by carefully placed demolition charges. He told the 'Journal': 'It would be difficult for something from the plane to trigger an event like that'."

Ten days later, Romero remarkably recanted his original position, telling the paper "he now believes there were no explosives in the World Trade Center towers, contrary to comments he made the day of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack."

"Certainly the fire is what caused the building to fail," Romero said.

After embracing the official explanation for the World Trade Center's collapse, Romero's career and the funding and national reputation for his little New Mexico college took off. Check the bottom of this webpage for some propitious coincidences connected with Romero's abrupt change of opinion.

The subsequent phone exchange between Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Romero discussing the professor's views about controlled demolitions bringing down the WTC had to go something like this:

Rumsfeld: Hey, Van; how's it hangin', ol' buddy? About that interview you gave to The Journal last Tuesday after the attacks. Are you sure you got that right? I have four million little reasons here that say you didn't.
Romero: Well... ah...Secretary Rumsfeld....
Rumsfeld: Call me Rummy.
Romero: Rummy? Right... Well, sir, you know.... My colleague and I indeed did paint DC bright red with
Socorro tequila late into the night on 9/10. Listen, I could have been wrong about what I saw in those videos. As a matter of fact, Rummy, I know I was wrong.
Rumsfeld: Good man. I knew I could count of you, VD.

Unlike Romero, Professor Jones is not recanting his expert opinion, so he's being assailed with the crueler end of the White House's censorship stick.

Watch the clip below of MSNBC resident pussy Tucker Carlson rudely handle Jones during an November 2005 interview in which Jones was asked to discuss his WTC research. (After the show, Carlson later wrote on the MSNBC website that his own loss of friends at the WTC and Jones' offense of the memory of others dying on 9/11 occasioned his rude questioning and ruffling of the BYU prof. Carlson neglected, however, to mention why he "forgot" to air a clip of WTC Building #7's collapse from controlled demolition Jones had provided Carlson to show during the interivew.)

After viewing the clip you be the judge of Jones' character and credentials. But from his self-effacing, mild manner and fluid ease before studio cameras, I readily see that this terrorist-loving, enemy-sympathizing bastard without question poses a imminent threat to the Amerika Bush and his crooked cronies have in mind.

Vid-clip Postscript
: Rather than intimidate and censor its scholars, Europe seems more welcoming of expert opinion. Watch this 2.5-minute clip of Dr. Jowenko, a Dutch "control demolitions expert," tell an interviewer roughly 35 seconds into the clip that the collapse of WTC #7 was a controlled demolition. If you are a glutton for punishment and falling buildings collapsed by explosives, watch Jeff King--an MIT engineer and research scientist--discuss the WTC's signature markings of collapse from controlled demolitions.

19 September 2006 Update: 9/11 Blogger reported today Swiss structural engineering Professor Hugo Backmann now is on record claiming WTC #7, which was not struck by a plane, "likely" collapsed from controlled demoltion. The entry further provided contact information for both Backmann and Dr. Jowenko.

Another 19 September 9/11 Blogger entry also details the list of experts on record claiming controlled demolitions were used at the World Trade Center on 11 September 2001:

Experts Discuss Contolled Demolition

Numerous experts have stated that the collapse of the world trade centers was, or looked like, controlled demolition:

Many other experts have privately expressed skepticism of the official explanation for why the Trade Centers collapsed. Hopefully, they will also find the courage to come forward publicly.

And finally, though Van Romero never responded to any of my emails concerning his peculiar flip-flop on what brought down the WTC, perhaps your luck getting a response would be better. Association Of Professors Defending BYU's Jones

PROVO A national organization is coming out in support of a BYU professor placed on paid leave for his controversial theories about the September 11th attacks.

The American Association of University Professors says the school should not have placed the physics professor on leave for statements made outside of the classroom.

Steven Jones has published a paper suggesting the World Trade Center towers fell because of pre-set demolition charges -- not just because they were struck by planes.

General secretary for the AAUP Roger Bowen says academic freedom also protects statements professors make outside the classroom.

Jones says he only discussed his theory in class after students asked him questions about it.

A spokeswoman for Brigham Young University says what Jones said in the classroom and how careful he was about disclaimers are subjects of the university review.
